 Building and Grounds

Memorial Garden Committee: The memorial garden committee is charged with keeping the garden in good condition.  This includes getting together for one hour each week during good weather to perform tasks such as weeding and wall maintenance.  The committee has expanded its area of activity to include the full border of the parking lot adjacent to the garden.  Anyone interested in maintenance is welcome to join us  -- currently between 1 and 2 PM on Tuesdays.  Call Tom Schoonmaker, 215 844-2453 or schoonrt@verizon.net for more information.

Building and Grounds Committee:  This group meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month except August. The committee is broken down into five major areas of activity.  Each area operates as a sub-committee.  Members of the sub-committees  concentrate their efforts in their assigned activities but there will be the flexibility to work across sub-committee lines where interest and capabilities dictate.

  • Building Exterior:  This sub-committee will concentrate on the exterior envelop of the buildings. Activity currently center on cost effective projects that will maintain and improve the building and grounds.  There will be obvious cross-over requirements with the other subcommittees.
  • Building Interior:  This sub-committee will concentrate on the interior of the buildings, the upkeep and maintenance, interior design, paint, wallpaper, window treatments, floors, signage, safety and security, lighting requirements, etc.  There will be obvious cross-over requirements with the other  sub-committees. 
  • Mechanical and Systems:  This sub-committee will concentrate on the mechanical and electrical systems in the buildings and will include electrical systems, heating and air conditioning, alarm systems, lighting of walkways, parking areas, etc.  There will be obvious cross-over requirements with the other three subcommittees.
  • Exterior Grounds:  Concentrate on the landscaping, including the trees.  (Note:  The Memorial Garden Committee is a separate committee and has its own responsibilities. It is not a part of the Property Committee.)
  • Long Range Planning and Use:  This sub-committee will concentrate on the long range planning for the use of the property and the development of new uses for the present and will coordinate with the planning group of the Administrative Committee.
